In this particular application, the customer needs to reduce cycle time. Allied Engineers accessed the problem and provided a solution to reduce cycle time by 67%.
A hole was drilled and a boring system roughed and then finished the whole. This process took 42 minutes to complete.
Our 150˚ T-A insert drilled the hole and we finished the hole with a replaceable head reamer system. This process took 14 minutes to complete saving 28 minutes per part.
The replaceable head model allows for on-machine replacement, significantly reducing set-up and downtime and allowing for multiple diameters within the same arbor, reducing inventory requirements.
